Let's get away

I am loving these boat rides.

Blogger really doesn't do the pics justice. Please check them out on One Love Photo's blog.

Sorry Mom...want some pepto?

My hair is big ya'll, it is super-duper-hard-to-handle big. My fiance says he has never seen anything like it. Some days it hangs past my shoulders, others it is at my ears!

My Mom once told me I was born with so much hair she thinks it gave her indigestion when she was pregnant with me (ha.ha). Some days I like my hair, but days like today I just want to get a pixie cut, ala Rosemarie's baby (without the Satan child vibe) or cute eloped Ev'Yan (remember her?).

The big question is, WHAT WILL I DO AT THE WEDDING? Should I wear it curly or straight? When it is straight (and I mean salon styled magic that I can kind of replicate at home with my chi straight) it goes really close to my belly button. When it is curly it is unpredictable (and it is usually/always curly).

I am leaning toward straight, but I feel like I'm betraying my curly girls out there.

Hello to my new followers Vera, Chocolate Rose, Julie, Kenya, and Melissa glad to have you here =)

My babycakes is feeling engaged ya'll

I'm talking to my honey bunches on skype now and he told me he is definitely feeling engaged. He made his first purchase decision (outside of wedding planning) with me in mind! What decision was that you ask?

Buying a cell phone!

If you knew him, you would know that this is a big decision. He has been wanting a palm pre since 2008 or something like that! 2008. The thing didn't even come out until like July 2009. And it hasn't even been available to the masses until recently. He has dreamed and talked and wanted this phone (like for real for real) for a long time.

It is the anti-iphone phone.

Do you see how it is touch screen and also slides up to a keyboard?
Do you also see how it has 3 internet pages on the screen at once? It can have many more at that.
It is the phone of his dreams.

So, last week his plan ran out on at&t and now was finally the time to switch to sprint...the palm pre was in his grasp! But, instead of switching to sprint and getting his coveted touch-screen-multi-internet-page-super-duper palm pre, he decided to switch to verizon so we can talk free (my plan is verizon) and his monthly bill will be less. He got a little simple LG instead (because it was free) with no touch screen or internet access.

I am so touched.

Wow, we are making decisions with each other in mind....we're engaged...we're about to get married...huzzah!

puzzle pieces

To keep the Polaroid theme going for today...check out these beauties. These were shot by Juan Felipe Rubio. I saw them on Coco + Kelly so I checked out his site and picked my favorites.

I love the little details like the holding hands, hugging an arm, touching a leg, or an ear, sigh...

Home grown awesomness

Seeds and Stitches is a blog I came across while blog surfing. Yes I am a blog surfaholic, anyway, before I knew it I was staring at this amazingly wonderful at home wedding! Seriously this wedding is awesome. Being in the UK is just the icing on the cake. I think the Polaroids make it extra special at that. The bride behind this beautiful wedding is Hannah, and she is a sweetheart for letting me share her photos with you.

The Bride and Groom

The Details
Feather corsage (yes!), clouds of gypsofilia bouquet, diy fabric invitation, friends off roader gettaway car

The Food
Homemade yumminess with lots of sweets!

A little something from the Bride:
"We were young, ridiculously, maybe even naively in love, with no money. It was low key, handmade and included feathers, sandals and a barbecue. It was specially special because of our friends and family who pitched in for every SINGLE part of the day."

Much more on her blog seeds and stitches. Go check it out!
PS. Did I mention her dress is Georgio Armani, but it is not one of their wedding dresses; it is a white dress that she saw in the shop window! That rocks.

PPS. Welcome to buhdoop party planner gal, I love those shoes!

Lovely

This photo is reason enough for wearing a veil.

Ev'Yan's elopement story

I saw the cutest elopement story over on apricot tea and I just had to share it with you. Not only is the elopement story adorable, the bride also has a similar name as mine. Not pronounced similarly, but she said when people try to spell her name they spell my name. Cool right? Well, for people with rare names that is pretty cool. Her name is Ev'Yan (pronounced 'Ev YAWN').

First, lets start with her dress, which she says has had a lot of adventures. She first wore it at a black & white formal party several years ago. She got it on sale for $10! What a steal. The second time she wore it was on a second date with her soon to be husband. She told him on their first date that she liked the band Death Cab For Cutie, so the next day he surprised her with tickets to see them in concert! How thoughtful. It was her first concert experience at that, what a wonderful memory. Which brings us to our elopement story.

Ev'Yan and her husband eloped on Christmas night. They spent the night talking about it and then decided to just do the dang thing! So that night they drove to Las Vegas. But, before that she wanted to make sure they looked somewhat put together and not so "elopey." So, she decided to wear "The Dress" with skinny black jeans; he wore a white button up shirt with skinny black jeans (they matched! How cute). She wanted to wear heals, but for comfort decided to wear blue flats and change into the heals later. The cutest part is that she forgot the heals, and her flats ended up being her something blue (check the picture).

Ev'Yan is so happy with how everything turned out (her parents and his parents both eloped). Here it is in her own words:
"Our little wedding was absolutely blissful. To try to put that night into understandable words would make the night less meaningful."

To read more about Ev'Yans elopement story head on over to her blog. She has plenty of advice on there as well. If you have a question about anything you can submit it to her at ask apricot.
